Tc) The Bus Manufacturing Group (Corona Bus Mfg. & Deccan Auto Ltd) has been established a vision of manufacturing world class buses in India. The Bus Manufacturing Group is an integral part of the 1.2 billion (USD) conglomerate founded by our group chairman - Mr MSRV Prasad. Mr Prasad is a metallurgical engineer from the prestigious NIT - Warangal.
In the year 2014 Mr Prasad set up Deccan Auto Ltd - A 'State Of Art' integrated bus manufacturing facility at Hyderabad & acquired a majority stake in Pune based Corona Bus Mfg. which was established in 2004 by technocrat entreprenuer Mr Shridar S Kalmadi. Mr Kalmadi is considered a pioneer in monocoque bus design technology in India.
Located in 75 acres of area, the plant has come up on 18 acres. It has modern testing facilities and paint booths that can handle more than 3000 buses annually. The manufacutring unit is accrediated by ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) and conforms to the new bus code. It has a leakage testing facility, modern painting booths with ovens, bus transfer platform, 100% power backup, jigs & fixtures with hydraulic/pneumatic controls, ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant), diesel filling station, weight bridge and a four lakh litre watre storage capacity
The Corona buses & coaches have the lowest centre of gravity in the industry making it extremely safe & comfortable for passengers. The suspension is superior to traditional air suspensions. Monocoque technology is ideally suited for indian roads & operating conditions.
Corona manufactures rear engine buses based on 'True Bus' technology - Monocoque Space Frame design. The monocoque design helps in weight reduction & thereby contributes to better mileage & payload management. The safety of passengers is enhanced due to the transmission of forces across the bus structure & the shock absorption is superior to the chassis design on which traditional buses have been built.
